Fog and Mist: DO and DON'T

So this morning I awoke to a beautiful haze of fog and mist with the grayest skies you've ever seen. Sadly, I also had planned for a warm fall themed shoot later after lunch, but I canceled after realizing I would not get the warmth in the photos. Instead, I planned a fog and mist shoot to send to National Geographic. One of my goals is to either be featured in their magazines, or be hired as a freelance photographer for National Geographic.

A tip I learned from watching other photographers is always have a bad weather or fog plan. Living in Texas, our weather is never what we expect or want. We can have all four seasons in one week, sometimes two seasons in a single day. This makes us photographers angry when your sunny skies can go black and rainy at the drop of a hat. Because of the unpredictability, photographers have to learn quickly how to get their shots in and done before the clouds move or rain stops.
There is usually many beautiful scenery spots I see while I commute to class and I always think to myself "I am going to stop one day and take a picture of that". Whatever your "that" may be, don't keep saying one day, go out of your way to capture that moment. You never know where that will lead you.
